Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its squads for the 2026 Emerging Championships.
The Emerging Championships will be held in Melbourne and Sydney throughout April.
Football Victoria will host the Emerging Matildas Championships at the Home of the Matildas at La Trobe University in Melbourne from 9 to 15 April. Football NSW will host the Emerging Socceroos Championships at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney from 18 to 24 April.
NNSWF Technical Director Ryan Doidge said he was pleased to make the announcement.
“Through a continued focus on strengthening relationships with the Newcastle Jets, Member Zone Talent Support Program technical leads and club technical directors, we have been able to build on our talent identification process which we are very proud of,” Doidge said.
“Our identification process at NNSWF is strongly supported by our TSPs across metro and regional areas. Our regional TSP hubs are particularly valuable, playing an increasingly vital role through talent development games and TSP gala days.
“We are confident that every player with potential across northern NSW has been given the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities.”
Doidge said he was thrilled to showcase talented players and coaches from the northern NSW region at this year’s Emerging Championships.
“We have some outstanding young players from across our region in our squads and I have full confidence in them,” Doidge said.
“Congratulations as well to all the coaches and support staff selected to represent NNSWF. They have worked tirelessly throughout the year within our TSP and A-League programs and I am confident they will enhance the players’ understanding, knowledge and experience during the tournaments.
“With more than 400 players considered for selection across our region, I would also like to acknowledge the NNSWF Technical Department for their diligence and professionalism in finalising our squads.
“I look forward to working alongside our staff to deliver an incredible experience while showcasing NNSWF’s talent on the national level.”
NNSWF CEO Peter Haynes congratulated all the players and coaches selected.
“Congratulations to all the players and coaches selected to represent NNSWF at the 2026 Emerging Championships. We wish them every success in the tournaments,” Haynes said.
“NNSWF has a proud history at these events. I am confident that Ryan and his team are well prepared and that our players will make us proud on the field.”
The Emerging Championships are Football Australia’s premier national youth tournaments for under-15s and under-16s girls and boys forming an important part of the talent identification program and the national team pathway.
The competition will see teams from each of Football Australia’s member federations compete over six days.
