NNSWF to host all-female coaching course in Lake Macquarie this October

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce that we will be conducting an All-Female ‘C’ Licence Course at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility beginning in October 2023.

The course is open to female coaches 18 years of age and older who are registered to a NNSWF affiliated club or association in 2023 and intend to register in 2024. It gives candidates an understanding of the National Curriculum and Football Australia’s vision and philosophy.

Through the NSW Football Legacy Plan – Women in Football Scholarships, there will be up to 14 scholarship positions available for this All-Female FA ‘C’ Licence course.

Each scholarship will provide a $1,000 contribution to the course fee with successful applicants to contribute the remaining cost (current $185.00).

NNSWF Legacy Development Officer Joseph Wright believes the course is a fantastic opportunity for more females across the federation to progress their coaching skills.

“NNSWF is seeking to upskill female coaches from across northern NSW who are passionate about coaching. We want to fund individuals who are committed to developing as a coach to become role models for future female coaches,” Wright said.

“We would like to see greater representation of females in leadership roles in particular coaching.”

Scholarship recipient and participant of the All-Female ‘C’ Licence Course in Coffs Harbour earlier this year Belinda Skelton from Maclean Football Club, said the course was a fantastic experience.

“The course was a great opportunity to develop my skills as a coach whilst surrounded by other passionate female coaches,” Skelton said.
