NNSWF to host Matildas live sites

Northern NSW Football will host free official live sites for all three of the Matildas’ group games at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026, giving fans across the region a chance to come together and support the national women’s team in a family-friendly atmosphere.

The free official live sites will be held on the grass pitch at the Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility, where matches will be shown on a big screen. The events are free to attend and will feature food, music and entertainment for children, creating a festival-style environment for fans of all ages.

The initiative was developed to help the northern NSW community connect with the tournament and the Matildas as they compete on home soil, while celebrating the excitement and unity that football can bring.

Northern NSW Football CEO Peter Haynes was excited for the free official live sites and said they would give families and fans a special way to experience the tournament together.

“Events like this are what football is all about,” Haynes said.

“It’s a chance for our community to come together, support the Matildas and share the excitement of a major international tournament in a relaxed, family-friendly environment.

“Football is always better when it’s shared among a big crowd of like-minded fans and we’d love to see people from right across the region come out, bring their friends and family and get behind the Matildas.

“The Matildas have inspired a whole new generation of players and fans across northern NSW and these live sites are about sharing that excitement with our community. Whether you’re a lifelong supporter or watching your first game, it’s a great opportunity to come together, celebrate the women’s game and be part of something special.”

Australia will play three group stage matches with live sites at LMRFF confirmed for all three.
