NNSWF Indigenous Women’s State Cup team announced

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its Indigenous representative team to take part in the 2025 Women’s State Cup

The Women’s State Cup will return next month with the best NNSWF premier and community teams converging on Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility for the chance to be crowned state champions. 

The three-day tournament, to be held from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 July, will feature defending champions Newcastle Olympic and NPL Women’s NNSW league leaders Charlestown Azzurri. 

A NNSWF Indigenous team will enter the competition for the fourth consecutive year made up of the best Indigenous women and girl footballers aged 15-years and over from throughout northern NSW.

NNSWF Participation Officer - Schools and First Nations Football Micheal Hugo was pleased to make the announcement.

“NNSWF is delighted to enter an Indigenous representative team in the Women’s State Cup for a fourth consecutive year. It is a chance to celebrate First Nations communities, culture and football,” Hugo said. 

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our talented First Nations footballers to shine and represent themselves, their family, their culture and heritage.

“We wish them all the very best at the tournament.” 

The draw for the 2025 Women’s State Cup will be held on Monday 23 June and broadcast live on NNSWF social media channels.
