Northern NSW Football is delighted to unveil three new trophies for its NPL Women’s NNSW and NPL Men’s NNSW competitions.
The decision was made to update the NPL Women’s NNSW premiers and champions trophies as well as the NPL Men’s NNSW champions trophy as part of NNSWF’s 2024-26 Strategic Plan.
A key pillar of the new Strategic Plan is Showcase Our Game, with NNSWF’s premier competitions deserving the highest recognition and trophies fitting their standing.
While NNSWF has produced new premiers and champions trophies for NPLW NNSW and a new champions trophy for NPLM NNSW, the decision was made to retain the NPLM NNSW premiers trophy due to its history and connection with the competition.
General Manager Football Operations Liam Bentley was thrilled with the unveiling.
“NNSWF’s strategy is pretty clear that we want to showcase our game and the pinnacle of our game in our region is our NPL Men’s and Women’s NNSW competitions,” Bentley said.
Bentley said the design of each trophy was meticulously thought out, designed in collaboration with NNSWF’s official partner Badges and Medals.
“We wanted to take the opportunity with our new partnership with Badges and Medals to create new iconic trophies for these competitions,” Bentley said.
“These new trophies are a symbol and a statement of where we see these competitions. They are grand, they are big, they are beautiful and they are bold.
“These trophies show where we position these competitions. The grand final premiers trophies are identical, with the same trophy with different plates on them, which I think is an important message. They are a big trophy for a big match day.
“We hope for many years to come that these trophies will be the symbol of hitting the highest point of the men’s and women’s game here in northern NSW.
“We are really looking forward to seeing teams lift the new trophies in 2024.”
Broadmeadow Magic is set to lift the NPL Men’s NNSW premiership trophy this weekend. But the battle for the NPL Women’s NNSW premiership continues between Maitland FC and Newcastle Olympic FC as they head into the final two weeks of the competition.
The champions' trophies will be presented at the 2024 NPL NNSW grand finals, with the NPL Men’s NNSW grand final taking place on Saturday 14 September at Magic Park, Broadmeadow. The NPL Women’s NNSW champions trophy will be presented at the grand final that will take place on Sunday 15 September at Darling Street Oval.
