Northern NSW Football is delighted to recognise Yamba Football Club as the 100th club to gain 1 star accreditation in Club Changer.
Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development Program which aims to protect and enhance our clubs, make them stronger and more resilient, lead them in building a welcoming and inclusive culture, and educate them on positive environments for players, coaches and volunteers, and officials while planning for long term viability and success.
“Yamba Football Club is extremely proud to be the 100th club to gain a 1 star accreditation in the FA Club Changer Program,” Yamba Football Club President Mark Skippings said.
“The club will use its membership in the program as a platform to stimulate and guide its plans and ambitions to expand horizons around female participation and development, community awareness, offerings to and overall wellbeing for all volunteers, players, officials and spectators.
“We greatly appreciate the support and resources that will be made available through the program and look forward to working more closely with North Coast Football and the NNSWF team along the way.”
The priority focus of 1 star Club Changer clubs in northern NSW remains firmly on increasing female participation through the increased interest in the community created by the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and the ongoing success of the Matildas ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games.
NNSWF Project Manager Club Development Phillip Andrews is thrilled to see the success of the Game Changer Program within northern NSW clubs.
“Football Australia’s Club Changer accredited clubs are leading the charge with unprecedented connection to programs and services targeting female participation. Summer Football, MiniTillies kick off programs, Kick-on for Women and Female Leadership programs are providing the opportunities for clubs to invest in their club's future,’ Andrews said.
“During 2024 Female Football Week, 56 northern NSW clubs registered activations with 53 of those clubs 1 star club changer accredited. This is a perfect example of how the Club Changer program connects clubs to the programs and events on offer to support growth in the local football community.”
Football Australia delivers regular webinars to support club development. The next practical session on volunteers is on 20 May 2024 during National Volunteer Week.
