Football Mid North Coast ready for Community State Youth Championships

Football Mid North Coast will send eight representative teams to the Northern NSW Football Community State Youth Championships, which begin on Monday 6 July.

The tournament brings together the best community football players from member zones across Northern NSW. Football Mid North Coast's squads include players from 22 clubs across the region.

Football Mid North Coast General Manager Phillip Andrews said the championships continue to provide valuable opportunities for community footballers.

"Northern NSW Football has delivered these championships for several years, and it is fantastic to have strong representation from Football Mid North Coast," Andrews said.

"Our eight teams bring together players from 22 Football Mid North Coast clubs, giving them the chance to represent their region against the best community players in Northern NSW."

This year's tournament features a new format, with girls' matches played across the first three days and boys' matches across the following three days.

Andrews said the change will improve the experience for regional families.

"Splitting the tournament reduces the length of stay in Newcastle, allows teams to play multiple matches each day and makes the event more accessible for regional families," he said.

Football Mid North Coast will field four girls’ teams in the Under 12 North, Under 12 South, Under 14 and Under 16 age groups. The boy’s program will feature teams in Under 12 North, Under 12 South, Under 13 and Under 15.

Andrews said this year's championships will help shape the region's future approach to the tournament.

"We will learn a great deal from our participation in 2026, and those lessons will help us plan for the 2027 championships and beyond," he said.

Football Mid North Coast wished all players, coaches and families safe travels and every success at the championships.
