Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce North Companions FC as its Club Changer of the Month for June.
Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development program, which aims to enhance clubs for long-term viability and success.
This month’s Club Changer focus was safeguarding, inclusion and member protection. North Companions are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where all participants can enjoy football.
The club has embedded safeguarding and member protection practices internally and remains committed to ensuring that all participants feel valued, supported and empowered to enjoy football.
To actively promote a culture of safety, respect and fair play across all areas the club encourages the reporting of concerns and incidents through accessible and confidential reporting pathways, as well as delivering inclusive programs that encourage participants from people of all backgrounds and abilities.
While delivering inclusive programs, they also support and promote women and girls through dedicated initiatives that provide safe and positive opportunities to participate and develop their football.
North Companions also ensure coaches, volunteers and club officials understand their safeguarding responsibilities and are appropriately screened, trained and supported.
As part of the club's commitment to safeguarding, North Companions provides access to a dedicated Member Protection Information Officer who offers information, guidance and support regarding safeguarding member protection and complaint processes.
Through strong leadership, effective governance and a commitment to continuous improvement, North Companions work collaboratively to create an environment where every participant feels safe, respected and supported.
North Companions’ ongoing commitment reflects the club’s values and their ongoing dedication to meeting and exceeding accreditation standards, while ensuring football remains a positive, inclusive and enjoyable experience on and off the field.
