Pat's Day unites Bolwarra Lorn JSC to honour club legend and support important causes

For Bolwarra Lorn JSC, Pat's Day is about much more than football.

The Bushrangers come together each year to honour the legacy of club legend Pat McFadyen while celebrating the people and values that have shaped the club for generations.

This year's Pat's Day once again brought players, families, volunteers and supporters together to remember those who have made a lasting impact on the club. The day also raised funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, Rare Cancers Australia and M-Brace, continuing a tradition of giving back to the community in honour of Liz Eagleton and Vicky Delaney.

"Today is about taking a step back and taking a pause to remember those people and pay homage to them," Bolwarra club secretary Adam Parker said.

The annual event also celebrates the friendships and connections that extend well beyond the football field.

"It just reconnects everyone and it's more than a football game," Bushrangers player Brock Thomson said.

Many families have been part of the Bushrangers for generations and Pat's Day continues to strengthen those lifelong bonds while welcoming new members into the club community.

Bolwarra Lorn JSC thanked everyone who attended, volunteered and donated to make another Pat's Day a success, while also acknowledging the ongoing support of Hunter Valley Football in helping community clubs create meaningful moments on and off the pitch.

Pat's Day continues to show that the greatest strength of community football is not measured by results but by the people it brings together and the lasting impact they leave behind.
