Summer Football will return across northern NSW for the 2026-27 summer, giving players and clubs the chance to stay connected with the game throughout the spring and summer months.
Designed to provide a flexible and inclusive football experience, Summer Football features a refreshed format that caters for competitive and social environments, ensuring players of all abilities can take part.
Club Summer Football competitions can operate for up to 20 weeks, with programs permitted to commence from 1 October 2026 and conclude by 30 March 2027.
NNSWF Club Support and Development Officer Brett Hodgekiss said Summer Football continued to evolve as an important opportunity for clubs to engage their communities and keep players involved during the off-season.
“Hosting a Summer Football program allows progressive football clubs to create more opportunities for people to play and enjoy the game year-round,” Hodgekiss said.
“It’s a great way for clubs to retain their existing players while welcoming new participants from the local community. It can also provide valuable off-season revenue opportunities for clubs.
“Last season more than 30 clubs participated in Summer Football and we’d love to see that number continue to grow in the summer of 2026-27.”
Summer Football provides clubs with another pathway to expand participation, strengthen community connections and keep the game thriving throughout the year.
