Women's Leadership Program Conference takes place in Coffs Harbour

As part of the Northern NSW Football Women’s Leadership Program, 26 participants attended a two-day conference at the Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour. The Women’s Leadership Program is a five-week program facilitated by CFA APL Board Director and Chair of Women in Football (UK) Ebru Koksal.

The program is aimed at empowering women involved in football to have a stronger more positive influence on the sport, as well as providing participants with a professional development opportunity. With fewer than 50 days to go until the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup begins, it’s the perfect time for this exciting program.

The conference marks the third week of the program, which began in May 2023 and runs until mid-June 2023. Participants from six of the seven Northern NSW Football Member Zones attended the two-day conference run by Ebru Koksal, all involved in football as volunteers, football media, advanced coaches and referees, high-performance players, board members or paid employees.

Topics that were covered over the conference included leveraging your strengths, personality types and team dynamics, emotional intelligence and networking.

Northern NSW Football Legacy Development Officer Helen Moseley said: “The conference was a fantastic opportunity for the participants of the program to come together to learn and network face-to-face.”

“It was great that participants got to share their stories, look at the common issues that they are coming up against and what shared goals they are working towards.

“Stories were told about what their roles in football and their experiences, both the good and bad.”

“It was fantastic to be guided and directed by Ebru Koksal, who is one of the leading women within the world of football.”
