Applications for seventh round of NNSW Facilities Fund now open

Applications for the seventh round of the Northern NSW Football Facilities Fund are now open.

Northern NSW Football’s Facilities Fund was established in 2019 and aligns with the NSW Football Infrastructure Strategy.

The fund has seen NNSWF invest $1,406,907 in 25 community football infrastructure projects since its inception, with partnering funding of $3,348,379 taking the total project value to $4,755,286.

NNSWF General Manager Member Services Ross Hicks said funding came from a portion of player registration fees, with football money going back into assisting football clubs.

“The NNSWF Facilities Fund provides clubs with another avenue to seek significant funding for facility projects which helps increase participation, improve retention, attract more female participants, improve safety and security as well as improve football experiences,” Hicks said.

“Football is the most widely played sport in northern NSW, with more than 70,000 registered participants. Community football continues to boom, with participation levels experiencing significant growth. This growth is highlighted by the increase in female participation of 20 per cent in 2024.

“The fund has provided approximately $4,755,286 worth of facility upgrades across the northern NSW region.

“We have seen the positive impacts the fund has already had on clubs and their facilities. This is a great opportunity for clubs and we don’t want them to miss out.”

Applications open on Friday 20 June 2025 and close on Monday 28 July 2025.

NNSWF is committed to improving places to play, a focus area set out in its 2024-26 Strategic Plan. NNSWF’s goal is to increase the number of football facilities that are fit for purpose, welcoming and support the growth of the game.
