Northern NSW Football is pleased to announce Edgeworth Junior Soccer Club has been named as its Club Changer of the Month for August.
Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development program, which aims to enhance clubs for long-term viability and success.
The focus of August’s Club Changers was diversity, equality and inclusion. Edgeworth continue to be proactive in advocating for greater facilities and have successfully applied for a range of grants to make their ground more inclusive.
Through their approved grants Edgeworth have upgraded the lighting which has allowed for more female teams to play on Friday nights and introduced Edgy Under Lights gala days for MiniTillies teams.
In addition to upgraded lights they have also built an accessible pathway to provide access to the whole facility and gender neutral changerooms.
Edgeworth president Nathan Smith was thrilled for his club to be recognised as Club Changer of the Month.
“I am grateful the committee’s efforts have been recognised as it has been such a big year establishing concepts that will continue as a legacy,” Smith said.
“We are a diverse committee consisting of 40 per cent females and we have over 250 female players making up 30 per cent of our overall registered players.
“Edgeworth has made substantial investments in both physical and digital infrastructure this year which reinforces our commitment to providing a professional, inclusive and community-focused football experience.
“These efforts directly support Football Australia’s vision for grassroots development and long-term sustainability.
“The improvements both on and off the field have had a profound impact on the club as we have created a safer and more enjoyable environment for our players.
“We have also improved our efficiency for volunteers, increased revenue opportunities and enhanced community perception of the club.” For more information on Football Australia’s Club Changer program, visit NNSWF Club Changer or contact bhodgekiss@nnswf.com.au.
