NNSW All-Stars squads announced for clashes with Jets

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce its matchday squads that will face Newcastle Jets as part of the A-League club’s pre-season preparation.

NNSWF have selected senior men’s and women’s representative teams to play as the Northern NSW All-Stars. They will take on Newcastle Jets’ men’s and women’s teams as part of the A-League club’s pre-season schedule at Darling Street Oval on Saturday.

Similar matches have previously appeared on the football calendar but the formal partnership between Northern NSW Football and Newcastle Jets has cleared the way for the fixtures to return annually.

NNSWF Technical Director Ryan Doidge was pleased to make the announcement.

“I’m really excited about the make up of these two Northern NSW All-Stars squads,” Doidge said.

“I think the matchday squads we’ve chosen are full of talented players we’ve identified from NNSWF’s premier competitions from across the whole region and it is a fantastic chance to showcase that talent.

“Providing these opportunities for northern NSW players to compete in a representative environment against professional opposition, and potentially be identified, is a real positive.

“Congratulations to the players selected. I hope they enjoy the build up to the matches and wish them all the very best.”

NNSWF’s Technical Department chose the men’s and women’s extended squads made up of the best talent from across northern NSW.

Northern NSW All-Stars Men’s coaches Peter McGuinness and Jim Cresnar then chose the final men’s 18-player matchday squad, while Northern NSW All-Stars Women’s coaches Heath Whyte and Craig Atkins chose the final women’s 18-player matchday squad.

The matchday squads will train twice together this week ahead of Saturday’s matches.
