Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce a formal affiliation with Eastcoast Futsal Academy, Just Futsal Association NSW and Northern NSW Futsal.
The agreements represent a critical strategic step forward in uniting futsal across northern NSW by delivering alternative talented pathways and opportunities for players, coaches and referees.
Each of the futsal partners are respected, established organisations with deep roots in their communities and have a strong record of delivering high quality futsal competitions, academies and representative opportunities.
Port Macquarie Futsal established Eastcoast Futsal Academy in 2018. The academy helps produce professional quality players through first class training and mentorship.
Just Futsal Association NSW is based across the far north coast and offers competitions and academies with centres in Byron Bay, Goonellabah and Ballina.
Northern NSW Futsal is an association that provides services, competitions and representative opportunities for futsal clubs across the Hunter region and Central Coast.
NNSWF CEO Peter Haynes was pleased to make the announcement.
“Northern NSW Football is extremely proud to formally affiliate with Northern NSW Futsal, Eastcoast Futsal Academy and Just Futsal Association NSW. This is a major milestone and significant step forward for Northern NSW Football as we renew our focus on growing and supporting futsal in the region,” Haynes said.
“I want to thank NNSWF Futsal Development Manager Damon Shaw for his hard work in building relationships with each of the partners and facilitating the affiliation process, as well as each of the partners for their willingness to collaborate.”
NNSWF Futsal Development Manager Damon Shaw was excited for the future of futsal in the region.
“The partnerships between Northern NSW Football and Northern NSW Futsal, Eastcoast Futsal Academy and Just Futsal Association NSW marks a turning point for futsal in northern NSW,” Shaw said.
“By working with these passionate and successful partners and building on existing strengths, we are improving access to development pathways and creating a unified environment for growth.
“We will work together to give futsal players, coaches, referees and volunteers within northern NSW more participation opportunities. It is vital that we maintain this momentum and show the futsal and football communities that we are committed to moving forward together.”
Eastcoast Futsal Academy CEO Mick Day said: "We look forward to a strong collaboration with Northern NSW Football now and in the future, working towards developing the sport that we love.”
Vinicius Leite from Just Futsal Association NSW said: "It's an exciting time for futsal in the region. It's time we all worked together and gave the best opportunities to the children in northern NSW. I'm excited to work with Northern NSW Football to grow futsal."
Northern NSW Futsal CEO George Poulos said: "Northern NSW Futsal Association Incorporated is pleased to announce an affiliation with Northern NSW Football, which will provide further opportunities for our members and grow futsal in our region. Members will continue to have the opportunities our affiliation with Australian Futsal Association provides but now have entries to Northern NSW Football and Football Australia pathways.
“Working together is what the futsal community needs and we are excited about how this affiliation with Northern NSW Football will benefit both versions of the game. Northern NSW Futsal will collaborate closely with Northern NSW Football’s Futsal Development Manager Damon Shaw to expand futsal opportunities for all our members, supporting player development and the sport’s overall growth."
