NNSWF establishes Referee Academy

Northern NSW Football is delighted to announce the establishment of the inaugural NNSWF Referee Academy.

The purpose of the two-year academy program is to further referees’ knowledge, skills and advancement so they can be given opportunities to be selected for important tournaments and events and perform at their optimal level.

Newly appointed NNSWF High Performance Referee Coach Casey Reibelt’s she will run the NNSWF Referee Academy as part of her role. Reibelt will be responsible for the education and development of the selected match officials through online and in person workshops and coaching sessions.

Each of the match officials who were selected in the program were identified as potential elite match officials of the future.

In conjunction with the academy, NNSWF has also established a supplementary group which includes match officials who have been identified as potentially being placed in the Referee Academy at a later date.

NNSWF General Manager Referee Growth and Development Brad Carlin was excited to make the announcement. 

“The appointment of Casey Reibelt and the selection of the NNSWF Referee Academy and supplementary group are the outcome of considerable investment by the NNSWF Board of Directors and management to demonstrate their goal of developing our referee talent to the highest possible level,” Carlin said.

“Congratulations to each of the match officials selected for the NNSWF Referee Academy and supplementary group. I look forward to watching them grow and develop.”
