Macquarie Development Program (MDP)
The Macquarie Development Program (MDP) is designed to provide a structured and high-quality training environment for players aged 8 to 14.
This program is open to community players in 2026 who are looking to grow and develop their skills and/or progress into higher levels of competition.
The MDP consists of 8 x 1-hour sessions, with Boys and Girls groups alternating on a fortnightly rotation. Each session will feature Skill Development Activities and Small-Sided Games, focusing on the four core principles of football:
- Goal scoring
- Passing and receiving
- Defending
- Dribbling
Sessions are delivered by a highly experienced coaching team and overseen by the Macquarie Football Technical Director. Each participant will also be observed by the Technical Director and will receive individual feedback towards the conclusion of the program.
All Trials will be held at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility :13 Park Rd Speers Point NSW 2284
The program will run from April to August 2026, with training scheduled on Monday nights (dates and times TBC).

Community State Youth Championship (CSYC)
The Community State Youth Championships, hosted annually by Northern NSW Football, give talented young Community Football players a chance to represent their Member Zone and showcase their footballing skills against the best Community Football players from around the state.
In 2026, Macquarie Football will look to field teams as per the below age groups:
- 12s Boys
- 12s Girls
- 13s Boys
- 13s Girls
- 14s Boys
- 14s Girls
- 15s/16s Boys
- 15s/16s Girls
Eligibility: Players MUST be registered for a Macquarie-based Community Club in season 2026 to take part. JDL or PYL players are NOT eligible.
Date: July School holidays Monday 6th July to Friday 10th July 2026
Location: Lake Macquarie Reginal Football Facility, Speers Point.
Cost: FREE. Selected players for this tournament are exempt from cost, with Macquarie Football covering the cost of team entry and clothing for players.
Clothing Included: Playing Shirt, Shorts, Socks, Hoodie.
Training and Commitments: It is anticipated that each CSYC team will train 1x evening per week for at least 6 weeks in the lead up to the championships. This training is separate to MDP commitments, as below. We will also have a launch dinner for our Macquarie Football Boys and Girls groups (separate evenings) in the lead up to the July tournament.
Please Note: The Macquarie Development Program (ages 8-14) which runs throughout the Community Season with fortnightly sessions for Boys and Girls - does come with a cost of $100 for players. Footballers selected in our 12s, 13s and 14s Community State Youth Championship squads will also be offered the chance to take up this program, but it is optional – especially if clashing with any Monday evening club commitments. A player may opt to just take part in Community State Youth Championships (free of charge) if they wish.
