NCF Talented Female Program Shines in Victory Over Palm Beach

Female football was in the spotlight last Sunday as North Coast Football’s (NCF) Talented Female Program faced Palm Beach Soccer Club in a series of exciting matches.

NCF's under-15 team emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win, while the under-13s dominated with a 4-0 triumph. However, the under-17s encountered a challenging match, resulting in a 4-1 defeat.

Established in 1966, Palm Beach Soccer Club has evolved into one of the Gold Coast's largest and most successful sports clubs. Boasting over 80 junior teams and dedicated female football programs, the interstate matchup offered a valuable opportunity for the NCF girls to compete against top-tier opposition from Queensland.

Nathan Silvy, coach of the NCF under-15s, commended the quality of football on display.

“The game showcased strong performances from both teams, reflecting the competitive nature of the match,” he said.

“North Coast Football managed to secure a 1-0 victory, demonstrating excellent skill and teamwork. Palm Beach fought hard to find an equaliser but ultimately fell short as North Coast’s defence held firm in the closing stages.”

The match was filled with end-to-end action and numerous opportunities for both sides.

“Both teams had their chances, with Palm Beach showing resilience and creating several opportunities that tested North Coast’s goalkeeper. However, North Coast’s consistent pressure and strategic play ultimately led to a well-deserved win.”

Silvy expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance.

“I was very happy with the girls’ performance today. We have been working hard in training on staying compact in defence and providing the ball player with options once we win possession. The girls executed the game plan beautifully,” he said.
