North Coast Football teams have great weekend in Lake Macquarie

NORTH Coast Football’s junior representative teams have come away undefeated from their trip to Lake Macquarie.

The five North Coast Football teams had four wins and a draw against Adamstown Rosebud FC, during Round 2 of the Northern NSW Football Premier Youth League season.

North Coast Football’s under 14s, under 15s, and under 16s sides all recorded their first wins of the season.

The under 14s had a 5-0 victory, the under 15s were 3-0 victors, while the under 16s had a convincing 7-2 win.

The under 13s shared the points in a 3-3 draw.

North Coast Football’s under 18s won their second straight match to start the season, with a 5-1 win against Adamstown Rosebud FC at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility.

North Coast Football’s Technical Director Gary Phillips said the under 13s had an exciting weekend.

“The under 13s had a very exciting 3-3 draw, and it was their first away trip in the Premier League,” he said.

“It was a bit of a challenge having to get up at 5am to travel, and the other challenges they faced having come up through Community football into the Premier League.

“It was a great result, and after a slow start to the season they have adapted and shown progress.”

Phillips said they now faced an even tougher challenge backing up at home against Lambton Jaffas FC this weekend.

“Next weekend is going to be the biggest challenge, as it’s on the back of a big weekend, and catching up on sleep and recuperating,” he said.

“The challenge is backing up, and hopefully they can use the excitement of their first road trip to their advantage.”
